Early May here and the crappie are done spawning. Several schools have moved off the banks in search of food. Now it's all about brush piles and deep docks. We've been very fortunate to limit up several trips in a row.
Bass are still up shallow biting a variety of baits mostly soft plastics. Topwaters to start the day and then we'll slow down and crawl some baits in between some docks or fish some shallow ledges. Shad are spawning too which can trigger a few extra bites.
Things are shaping up to be another solid year. Water conditions are normal and fish are setting up in typical locations.
I expect several customers to start booking their summer trips to the Lake in the next few weeks. Take a morning or 2 and go fishing. I'd be glad to take you out and show you this beautiful lake.
